The Crab Nebula in Taurus- M1
What an incredible object. The Crab is a Supernova remnant, particularly amazing because it dates from modern times. In 1054, Chinese astronomers recorded the event, bright enough to be seen in daylight skies for twenty three days. A complex web of pink and teal filaments, it is a major X-ray and radio emission source including a Pulsar. I am grateful to Mr. Jim Misti of Misti Mountain Observatory for this data.
