The Elephant's Trunk IC 1396B in Cepheus

is but a tiny feature in the huge emission nebula called IC 1396.  Diffuse and dim, the Elephant's Trunk is by far the most beautiful portion of the larger complex. The trunk is often incorrectly called VDB 142, when in fact this is only a small, blue reflection nebula near the Trunk's top. This image is my second Ha+RGB combination and I'm very pleased with it. Have a look at the entire nebula in an old film shot. Can you find the Trunk? Hint- it's at 6 o'clock.
