Billions and Billions.com/Hickson 44
The Hickson 44 Compact Group in Leo is named for American astronomer Paul Hickson. This gravitationally bound gathering of diversely colored and shaped galaxies are from top: NGC 3193, 3189 and 3187 at center, and 3185 at bottom. A closer look reveals two tiny galaxies PGC (Principal Galaxies Catalog) 2806871 near 8 o'clock and PGC 86788 near 5 o'clock. Return to the Gallery
