The Crab Nebula
M1 in Taurus
is a supernova remnant, particularly amazing because its origin dates from modern times. In 1054, Chinese astronomers recorded the event,
bright enough to be seen in daylight skies for twenty-three days. A complex web of pink and teal filaments of Ha and OIII,
the Crab is a major X-ray and radio emission source, including a pulsar. I am grateful to my friends at Telescope Live for this data.
