The Hickson 44 Compact Galaxy Group
NGC 3185, 3187, 3190, 3193 in Leo
are collectively known as Hickson 44, and also Arp 316. At 60,000,000 light years distance, they are a nice example of varied galaxy types.
At center-right with the really neat dust lane is NGC 3190. The highly irregular S-shaped galaxy to its left is NGC 3187.
At 7 o'clock is NGC 3185. Finally, at right is the elliptical, NGC 3193.
Many thanks to my partner, Dr. Ron Brecher for acquiring and preprocessing this data.
