Draco Triplet of Galaxies 2
NGC 5965, 5963, and 5971 in Draco
are a non-interacting, visual trio of spiral galaxies in 'the dragon.' Not to be confused with Draco's other, more famous triplet (NGC 5981-82-85), NGC 5965 is the edge-on at 2 o'cock, with the nearly face-on, spindly-armed NGC 5963 below it. Both are Sc-type spirals discovered by William Herschel in 1788. To their left, is tiny NGC 5971 (Sa) at 3 o'clock. The data was acquired at New Mexico Skies in 2013.
