NGC 6902 Galaxy
NGC 6902/IC 4948
is an face-on spiral galaxy in the southern constellation of Sagittarius.
At 124,000,000 light-years distance, it was discovered in 1836 by English astronomer John Herschel.
The morphological classification is SA(r)b, with 'SA' indicating an unbarred spiral galaxy.
NGC 6902 has about three times more hydrogen than a typical galaxy of this class. The ring structure is undergoing extensive star formation.
