NGC 7252 Galaxy
Arp 226 in Aquarius
is also called 'Atoms for Peace' for its resemblance to electrons looping around the nucleus of an atom.
Its incredible structure is the result of a collision of two galaxies a billion years ago.
At 220,000,000 light-years distance, the lenticular galaxy is classified as a (R)SA(r)0 type.
Many thanks go out to my collaborator and friend, Mike Selby, who acquired and calibrated this fine data.
